The aims and the scope of the EHISTO baseline study

The empirical studies that were part of the baseline study

- recorded the attitudes of history teachers in the different countries regarding popular history magazines as supplementing educational material

- collected best-practice-examples

- examined the national curricula and national history magazines for the selection of 'European History Crossroads'

- analysed national school books with regard to national tendencies in the presentation of the chosen topics.

- provided some insight into the views of history didactics regarding history magazines at the outset of the project
