The Nuclear Crisis in the 1970s and 1980s

The research project covers the European and Transatlantic perspectives of the nuclear crisis in the 1970s and 1980s. It has been initiated in cooperation with the GHI Washington, D.C.. The project includes the creation of a digital archive. (Download Flyer)

The Paradoxical Republic - West Germany 1957-1982

The inner-German debate about the National Socialism and the extraparliamentary revolt in 1968 constitute two of the main research interests in the period of contemporary German history.



Network Processes of European and North American Elites

Within the frame of a project on the transcultural Atlantic the networking processes of European and North American elites will be analyzed. The research concentrates on the generation of communities in the economy, academia, and media as well as in the political, military and cultural areas.



The Anti-American Century

This project is designed to analyze the retroactive influence of the European outreach across the Atlantic on the Europeans themselves. The research mainly concentrates on the European and global anti-Americanism in the 19th and 20th century.
