Bachelor’s Program in English and American Studies

The program imparts various competences for the occupation with English-speaking countries. Students are introduced to the topics and working methods of Linguistics, Literary Studies and Cultural Studies. Next to the skills required for independent and scientific work, the program trains linguistic competence and gives insight into the political and cultural institutions, the social and economic structures and the literatures of anglophone countries. English and American studies combines traditional philological areas of interest with new topics and competences, which prepare students for a broad range of future professional careers.

The Bachelor’s program enables students to take up work in a large number of professions such as education, journalism and the media, cultural management, work in exhibitions and museums, public relations, advertising, tourism, work in companies focused on foreign markets and work in international organizations. Beyond that, appropriate performance in the Bachelor’s program enables students to continue their studies in a Master’s program.
