2. Abstract of the Lecture
This lecture aims at showing that and how the work with authentic, non-simplified literary texts can be realised already in the secondary level I. As an example, Not Just For Christmas is used, a novella by the Irish author Roddy Doyle. At first, the text's content is presented and analysed, and subsequently it is shown, how it can be used in lessons with respect to a wide variety of skills. The lecture is practical and presents an overview of a successfully conducted lesson sequence as a whole as well as an exemplary presentation of separate lessons and ideas for teaching materials.
