Hanno Ehrlicher is professor of Spanish and Latin-American literature. His research interests include phenomena of cultural transfer, comparison of arts and intermediality, colonial travel accounts and argentinian fantasy.  Further information can be found here.

Peter A. Kraus holds the chair for Political Science at the University of Augsburg. He has perviously been Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Chair of Ethnic Relations at the University of Helsinki, Associate Professor of Political Science at Humboldt University in Berlin, Acting Chair of Political Science and Political Sociology at the University of Frankfurt, a John F. Kennedy Memorial Fellow at the Center of European Studies at Harvard University and a Theodor Heuss Visiting Lecturer at the New School in New York. He has published widely and in several languages on problems of democratic transition and consolidation, politics in Southern Europe, ethnicity, nationalism and identity politics, and the present dilemmas of European integration. Prof. Dr. Rotraud von Kulessa holds the chair for Roman literature (French/Italian). Before she came to Augsburg she taught at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg. Her research focuses on cultural transfer (mainly during the 18th century), historical gender studies, the relationship between migration and literature, and the paradigm of the literary field. Currently she works on texts of sociability in the surroundings of Italian renaissance academies, as well as on the phenomenon of the querelle in literature. She acts as board member of the Société Internationale pour l’Etude des femmes de l’Ancien Régime and is a member of the COST-Projektes European Women’s Writing. Dr. Timo Müller is research associate at the chair for American Studies. His research focuses on modernism, Afroamerican literature, the Black Atlantic, postcolonial studies, ecocriticism and cultural ecology as well as literature and cultural theories. Further information can be found here.

Prof. Dr. Rainer-Olaf Schultze taught and researched amongst others at Harvard University, Queens University, Carleton University and the University of Calgary. Prof. Schultze was founding director of the Gesellschaft für Kanada-Studien and chairman of the Kuratorium der Stiftung für Kanada-Studien. His research focuses on comparative politics, the political sociology of industrialized democracies with a regional focus on North America and Western Europe, comparative studies of federalism, empirical electoral research, constitutional policy and political consulting. Prof. Dr. Sabine Schwarze holds the chair for Roman linguistics (French/Italian). Before taking her chair in Augsburg she taught and researched at the Martin-Luther-University in Halle-Wittenberg where she focused on language philosophy and theory of translation during the age of enlightenment. She also taught and researched at numerous Italian, French and Canadian universities - among others at Pisa, Palermo, Messina, Udine, Lyon and Ottawa. Prof. Schwarze is an external member of several international research centers on questions of plurilingualism such as the. Centro Internazionale di Plurilinguismo (CIP), Università degli studi di Udine. The current research focus of her chair is on linguistic norms, language awareness and identity (France, Francophone communities in North America, Italy), cultural and generational specifics of scientific prose as well as on textuality and text patterns in the multimedia context. Prof. Dr. Hubert Zapf holds the chair for American Studies at the University of Augsburg. He taught and researched at the University of Würzburg, the University of Buckingham, the Universität Paderborn, the University of Pittsburgh, the Brandeis University and the University of Vermont. His chair focuses on research about literature and ecology, the American Drama of the 20th century, the American Renaissance, modern literature and literature theory.
