The professorship for Transatlantic Cultural History (TCH) deals with the history of the transatlantic interactions, respectively the history of North America and Europe in its transatlantic extension.

Focuses:

The cultural history of the United States of America and Canada constitutes a main research aspect. In addition the staff members deal with European history since 1945 and global history of the protest and peace movements during the Cold War period.

Teaching:

Courses will be offered in the span of modern and contemporary history. Credits can also be received in the area of European cultural history. The professorship is part of the historical disciplines, but it is also affiliated with the interdisciplinary research initiative for North America at Augsburg University.
