The 2013 CDE London Theatre Excursion, Nov 3 - Nov 8, 2013!

An extensive tour through the world of London's contemporary theatre and drama, designed especially for students working on a theatre-related MA or PhD project at a university in mainland Europe.

Announcing JCDE: Journal for Contemporary Drama in English, an international journal published by De Gruyter with CDE from 2013!

JCDE - Journal for Contemporary Drama in English The Journal of Contemporary Drama in English focuses on issues in contemporary Anglophone dramatic literature and theatre performance. It renegotiates the understanding of contemporary aesthetics of drama and theatre by treating dramatic texts of the last fifty years. The peer-reviewed journal publishes essays that engage in close readings of plays and also touch upon historical, political, formal, theoretical and methodological aspects of contemporary drama, theatre, and performance. JCDE will appear twice a year: Volume one will be a special issue based on the annual international conferences held by CDE Society, volume two invites individual essays on contemporary theatre and drama in English. The journal will also contain a review section.
Editors: Martin Middeke (Managing Editor), Christina Wald (Reviews), Eckart Voigts, Clare Wallace.
  • Members Area: Members of CDE now have full access to the digitized proceedings of the first 11 CDE conferences, held between 1992 and 2002. The Members Area has individual articles or full volumes as searchable PDF files. More to follow soon.
  • CDE Award 2012: CDE invites submissions for the CDE Award 2012 for outstanding research in the field of contemporary theatre and drama in English. Only recent work - Dr/PhD theses or post-doctoral theses (Habilitationsschriften) completed in 2010 and 2011 - will be considered for the prize (up to EUR 2,500). Deadline for submissions: December 31, 2011.
