CDE Award 2012: CDE invites submissions for the CDE Award 2012 for outstanding research in the field of contemporary theatre and drama in English. Only recent
work - Dr/PhD theses or post-doctoral theses (Habilitationsschriften) completed in 2010 and 2011 - will be considered for the prize (up to EUR 2,500). Deadline for submissions: December 31, 2011.

CFP: The MLA-indexed Hungarian Journal of English and American Studies (HJEAS) invites contributions to a special section in one of the 2013 issues, titled "Revisions of the Dramatic Canon: The Work of Caryl Churchill and Contemporary British Playwriting by Women" and edited in honour of the 75th birthday of Caryl Chruchill in 2013. The description 'British' refers to writers from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as well. Abstracts not exceeding 500 words should be emailed to the section editor, Dr. Mária Kurdi, by 1 February 2012. CFP: The seminar "Representations of Political/Ethical Concerns in post-1989 British Theatre" (S74), convened by Deniz Bozer (Hacettepe University, TR), Ibrahim Yerebekan (Rize University, TR), and Mireia Aragay (University of Barcelona, ES), will be held at ESSE 2012 - 11th Conference of the European Society for the Study of English, Bogaziçi University, Istanbul, 4-8 September 2012. Those wishing to participate in the Conference are invited to submit 200-word abstracts of their proposed papers directly to all convenors of the seminar in question before 31 January 2012. The convenors will let the proponents know whether their proposals have been accepted by no later than 29 February 2012. Further information is available on the conference website.
