• Call for papers on Zizek and Performance (edited volume): Expressions of interest are invited from scholars across the humanities interested in philosophy, theatre and performance to contribute to an edited volume on Žižek and Performance. Proposals are invited on aspects of Žižek's work and performance theories and practices. Abstracts of c. 250 words along with a brief biography should be sent to the editors Broderick Chow (Brunel University, London) and Alex Mangold (Aberystwyth University).Deadline for submission of abstracts: 11 June 2012. • The meta-search engine "Virtuelle Fachbibliothek medien buehne film" is a powerful tool to search catalogues of German university libraries and other institutions specifically for publications in theatre and performance studies as well as media, film and communication studies. (The website is exclusively in German.)
  

• The international conference "Subsidy, Patronage & Sponsorship: Theatre and Performance Culture in Uncertain Times" is to be held at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, on July 19-21, 2012. It is organised by Professor John Bull and Dr Graham Saunders from the University of Reading in cooperation with the V & A. Abstracts for 20-minute papers (250 words) or panel proposals (1000 words) should be sent to the organisers no later than 24 FEBRUARY 2012. • The MLA-indexed Hungarian Journal of English and American Studies (HJEAS) invites contributions to a special section in one of the 2013 issues, titled "Revisions of the Dramatic Canon: The Work of Caryl Churchill and Contemporary British Playwriting by Women" and edited in honour of the 75th birthday of Caryl Chruchill in 2013. The description 'British' refers to writers from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as well. Abstracts not exceeding 500 words should be emailed to the section editor, Dr. Mária Kurdi, by 1 February 2012. (Papers of the selected contributors are to be sent to the section editor via email by 1 August 2012.)

• "Beckett and the State of Ireland Conference 2012: Irish Beckett - Global Beckett" is to be held at the University of Dublin on July 13-14, 2012. Abstracts not exceeding 300 words for 20 minute papers should be emailed to the conference organisers. The deadline for proposals is Friday, 24 February 2012. • The seminar "Representations of Political/Ethical Concerns in post-1989 British Theatre" (S74), convened by Deniz Bozer (Hacettepe University, TR), Ibrahim Yerebekan (Rize University, TR), and Mireia Aragay (University of Barcelona, ES), will be held at ESSE 2012 - 11th Conference of the European Society for the Study of English, Bogaziçi University, Istanbul, 4-8 September 2012. Those wishing to participate in the Conference are invited to submit 200-word abstracts of their proposed papers directly to all convenors of the seminar in question before 31 January 2012. The convenors will let the proponents know whether their proposals have been accepted by no later than 29 February 2012. Further information is available on the conference website.

• The 4th International Conference on American Drama and Theater is to be held at the University of Seville (Spain) on May 28-30, 2012.
